GRESIK THE INDUSTRIAL CITY

GRESIK,a small town near Surabaya,the capital city of east java.Today,Gresik ia known as one of the industrial city in east java,here in Gresik there are many big company like PT.SEMEN GRESIK
or PT.PETROKIMIA GRESIK one of the biggest chemical industry in Indonesia.Beside that two big company,there are thousands of company in Gresik like PT.SMELTING,a chopper smelter company.Not only as a industrial city,but Gresik ia also known as religius city,because in this town there are two holy grave as known as SUNAN GIRI and SUNAN MAULANA MALIK IBRAHIM
They are the two of nine special people who spread Islam on Java in 14 century.Gresik also have a tradition called malam selawe (twenty five)
and pasar bandeng,those both tradition is held on Ramadhan month.Thousands of people came to the place where the tradition is held,and that is in Giri,the place of holy grave of Sunan Giri.They prayed to the God for their life,their safe,and also they pryaed for their family.And pasar bandeng is held on near the holy grave of Sunan Maulana Malik Ibrahim.In the Pasar Bandeng tradition,is also held an auction for the biggest milkfish.In every year,that auction is always held near the city park.Gresik also have trditional food called "pudak",it made from rice fllour and packed in skin of palm tree.Gresik also have "nasi krawu",its rice with side dish made from meat with special spices.and also "otak-otak" it's made from milkfish with rich special spices.So,come to Gresik for your investation and enjoy your visit to this industrial and religius town.
